This is a post dedicated to informing people about the various ways online. The best way to make money is through having multiple sources of revenue. Unless you have a fantastic idea that you are going to implement you will need to have several sources of income on the internet.
However if you have an idea that will make you millions like Mark Zuckerberg did with facebook (23 years old and worth $700+ million) go for it.
Anyone who wants to make money online should read this. The money you will make is proportionate to the time and effort you put in. Onto the sources of income.
Selling on eBay.
Perhaps the most well known method of making money is through selling things through internet auctioning sites such as eBay. The premise is simple, you post an item you want to sell and then prospective buyers view your ad and then bid on it. The highest bid wins.
If you are familiar with the site you have most likely seen users with over 100,000 sales. These power users are most likely making a very good profit from it. And if they can do it so can you.
The biggest part of this is knowing what to sell and knowing where to buy it in bulk cheaply. I suggest that you sell a product or a range of products that you are familiar with. Search ebay and research products you would like to sell. By being specific about it you may be able to find a niche market with very few competitors.
The hardest part is finding a list of suppliers. You need to be able to get the products cheaply so that when you sell them you can make a nice profit.
I recommend salehoo.com as they have proven to provide a great service to their 40,000+ members and regularly find suppliers for almost any goods. The price of lifetime membership is $67.00 (however don’t pay until you research for yourself). The site may not give you want you need but you can ask them to find suppliers for your product and they do it for free. Along with this you also gain access to their members forum which automatically networks you with over 40,000 people with similar interests. It’s a good place to start.
There are several other sites which list wholesalers and these can be found on search engines.
BUT remember always do your research. Go find some reviews or sites that have experiences of previous customers. Never trust a site soley based on their word, if you are getting excited about something then they are doing a good job marketing, it does not mean they are being honest.
Once you know your product and have a supplier, investigate whether drop shipping is for you. This is a service in which a third party (can also be part of the wholesaler’s service) known as a dropshipper sends the product straight to the consumer. This is convenient as you never see the product and do not have to go through the hassle of packaging it yourself. The downside is that you do not know the quality and thus may have to pay out of pocket to refund customers who receive faulty products. To read more about dropshipping go here.
Selling on Craigslist and in Trading papers
In the past I have made a killing from this. Simply you find a product, buy it wholesale online, or from a cheap supplier and then resell it locally. I do this, with Nintendo DS flashcards such as the R4 Revolution. These products allow you to use third party software on the Nintendo DS. I chose this product because it is cheap to buy, it is a niche market, and because of the target market’s needs. The target market is children between 10 and 16. They know about the products due to their proficiency with the internet but due to conservative parents who do not yet trust the internet are unable to buy them.
However you provide them with the alternative which satisfies their parents need for safety in the transaction. The beauty of this is that you can make 50-100% profit. For example I buy the flash cards for $35-$45 and through in a $20 memory card. I then sell the combined package for $100 in the paper.
This gives me a profit of between $35 and $45 for each package I sell. On average I sell between 5-10 of these a week. As you can see that provides me with a nice source of income.
“Get Paid to” Sites
This blog was originally designed to help me turn this into a serious source of income. However as I have gotten into it I have found that more and more people want to learn various methods of making money.
“Get Paid to” sites are sites that pay you to do actions such as read emails, complete surveys and click on ads. By using survey sites such as cashcrate.com you will be able to complete surveys and make money from it. If you are dedicated you will be making up to $30 a week. This kind of money for the time required is quite frankly is shit. So I will go straight onto what I think is one of the best ways to make a source of constant income Paid to Click sites.
Paid to Click sites are sites set up by people to bring advertisers and consumers together. Advertisers pay the site owners to place ads up on their sites. In turn the owners of the site then pay members between $0.005 and $0.01 to click and view the ads for a predetermined period of time. This also seems like shit money, however the best part is the referral system.
If you refer someone to a site the site owners will pay you for each ad that your referral views. Usually this is also between $0.005 and $0.01. The table below shows some potential earnings based on an average of 10 ads per day and each ad being worth $0.01.
From this you can see that if you refer 10 people to just one site you will make $1 each day. To maximise profit I suggest that you join up to 10 sites. That way if you only refer 10 people, you can refer them to 10 sites and that would count as a total of 100 referrals. This would make you $10 a day. The amount of people you refer is all up to you. Google AdSense
One of the most popular ways of creating a source of revenue on the internet is using Google AdSense. Simply you place AdSense ads on your blog or website and everytime they are clicked you will make money. The biggest problem with this is that to make a lot of money you will need to be getting lots of traffic to your site or blog. To do this you will need to create quality content, and utilise Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques to increase your Search Engine Results Page (SERP). There are many ways to increase your SERP and you will need to learn the basics of SEO to do it. It is such a comprehensive thing that there is no way I will be able to even the scratch the surface with this blog entry.
When creating a site or a blog you will need to make it on a topic that you are interested in. One of the best options is to make a current affairs blog where the content is related to what happens in the world specific to your topic. For example you could have a blog based around a popular actress. The beauty of this is that with certain SEO techniques such as posting news articles you will be able to gain more traffic. Furthermore because you are blogging on a popular person there is likely to be many people looking for information and news on them.
The ads from AdSense will relate to the topic you discuss and therefore increases the likeliness that someone will click on those ads. Once you have gone through the initial phase of setting up the site and then getting moderate amounts of traffic the maintenance will be minimal.
Depending on the effort you put in and your success you can make up to a five figure sum of money monthly just through AdSense ads.
Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing works by you promoting a companies product or service and then receiving a commission whenever someone buys or joins using your affiliate link. Think of it as if you are a sales person. The amount of money you make depends on the number of sales you make.
How you make your sales is completely up to you. The amount of money you make depends on the affiliate program, for example Salehoo’s affiliate program pays you $45.73 or 61%. If you refer ten people to Salehoo then you will make $457.30. Damn good money! The following three sites have databases of sites that have affiliate programs and top-affiliate even has a ranking system so you can see which ones will make you the most money. I recommend you start out with the ones that require no investment which includes paid to click sites, google adsense and affiliate marketing. My number one tip however is to ALWAYS RESEARCH. By researching you will be able to avoid being scammed of your time and money.
